120 elite students from esteemed institutions like Peking University, Tsinghua University, Cambridge University, and the National University of Singapore, among others from the US, UK, Canada, Singapore, Korea, and China, gathered at HKU in preparation for an enriching 3-day academic trip.

📚 Embarking on Academic Journeys + Campus Tour 

The trip began with a thorough introduction to the Masters Programmes, followed by a warm welcome from Prof. Gao Pingyang, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate). The renowned Prof. Chen Zhiwu then shared valuable insights into the wealth management industry. After, participants were free to explore the historical campus, blending education with cheerful camaraderie. 

💼 Dean’s Master Fellowship Challenge + Alumni Night

Students engaged in an intensive 3-hour session led by programme directors at Cyberport, where they participated in group interviews and delivered fascinating business presentations, showcasing both their skills and creativity. The evening concluded with a delightful Dinner Cruise on Victoria Harbour, allowing students to share their career aspirations with alumni against the stunning skyline.  

🚀Career Prospects + Opportunities in Hong Kong 

To gain firsthand insights into the industry, participants visited the offices of Huatai International Financial Holdings Company Limited, KPMG, and LinkedIn. Special thanks to Levin Wang, Chief Executive Officer, Ingrid Liu from Strategy and Corporate Development Department and Hao Jiang from Private Wealth Management Department at Huatai International Financial Holdings Company; Rocco Li, HR Director at KPMG and Thomas Wu, Senior Client Solutions Manager at LinkedIn.

Mr. Anthony Lau, Director of Hong Kong Talent Engage, and Ms. Fiona Mak, Managing Director of Ambition Hong Kong, shared the advantages of pursuing a career in Hong Kong, providing an overview of the local job market supported by government policies and university resources. Everyone left inspired to meet again at HKU in 2026 – making a heartfelt promise to follow through!
